Does anyone know the best way to clean quantum quartz bench tops? Will I scratch it if I use Jiff or Ajax? Our benchtop is the same colour as the ones at McDonald restaurants- whitish colour. I have noticed that if I rub an area too much, the stone looses some of its "shine". So far, I have used a microfibre cloth and water. But it doesn't remove pen marks and some watermarks (thanks to our kids).

Any help?

Thanks.

I have only ever used the clear Windex on my granite and now CS, I wouldn't use anything gritty on it.

So SuH Im guessing you only use warm water and a cloth?? :? :?

We use Ajax - it says on the label 'ideal for stone benchtops!' so Im hoping it is okay????

Its really tempting to use the Ajax.. warm water doesnt seem to be clean enough?

I use my enjo kitchen mitt to clean and then the miracle to dry it off so it's streak-free.

Mild detergent and warm water...
Don't use an abrasive or you will have to re-polish soon

This is made by a reputable company that specialises in stone care. I'd use this...

If you have an agglomerate surface, its probably best to consult the manufacturer for specificly recommended cleaning & maintenance products.

thanks.

I have used Ajax once or twice, but I noticed the 'shine" is gone when I look at the table at an angle. Detergent and warm water still doesn't remove some stains. I thought CS is not suppose to stain! I'll try Windex next time. Does windex have alcohol in it? Would that affect the polish over time?

In my previous house I had black granite and for 15 years, probably twice a day, I cleaned it with Windex (clear not blue) it never lost its shine and removed grease beautifully. I am not sure how I will go with any staining on my white CS, I remember when I did a CS stain test on a sample I had and I removed curry with Gumption...and I am not sure if there's any alcohol in Windex. Have you tried Metho on the stains. Not sure how that would affect it either.

Found this

Cleaning

Cleaning Caesarstone tops is very manageable because of its non-porous property. For every day cleaning, wiping the Caesarstone counter top with warm soapy water or detergent and a damp cloth will keep it as good as you have first bought it. Buying a special spray and a wipe type cleaner can also be used to keep your counter top fresh.

However, if you wish to give your counter top thorough cleaning, there are special formulas that you can buy such as brand cream cleansers and all purpose scrubbers. This formula will space out the dirt in your counter top without damaging the stone. These creams and moisturizers are recommended for those hard to remove dried spills and stains.

In the unfortunate event that sticky materials like gum, foods, and nail polish spill into your counter top, quickly scrape away the excess with a sharp blade. Due to the quartz hardness, do not hesitate to scrape the stains with a blade as it can't do anything to scratch the surface of the Caesarstone counter top.

To clean metal marks on the surface, a mild detergent can get the job done. Do not worry when you use different cleaning materials if the marks do not disappear as the Caesarstone is durable enough to handle any cleaning formula. However, care should be given priority when applying stronger formulas such as cleaning acid.

Caesarstone counter tops are designed to tolerate short exposure to moderately hot temperature. However, excessive contact with hot surfaces, and cooking wares like hotplates, may damage your Caesarstone tops and increase wear and tear. It might leave bad marks if exposed to excessive heat. Therefore using a hot pad to buffer the heat from the hot wares to the surface is advised.

Caesarstone counter tops' polish is easily maintained because of it non-porous property. It does not absorb any other which helps maintain its purity. Therefore Caesarstone won't need any polishing solutions as it can maintain its gloss and smooth surface without effort.

However, we have to remember that while Caesarstone counter tops are the most durable kitchen materials out there, not every structure is perfect. Caesarstone can still be exposed to too much damage once you start to neglect maintenance of your counter top. Very strong chemicals can permanently damage the counter so it is important to watch the solvents that you apply as it might destroy the physical properties of the Caesarstone. Solutions that contain trichlorethane or methylene chloride which is usually found in paint removers and some lubricants is not allowed. Cleaning agents that have high alkaline or PH levels should be avoided. If your counter top gets exposed to these products, it is important to quickly wash them away with water to neutralize their effect.

But wait, there's more ::hyst::
Care & Maintenance
Caesarstone is a quartz based product that has outstanding properties to ensure ease of maintenance and longevity of your surfaces. It will withstand exposure to tea, soda, wine, vinegar, lemon juice and strongly coloured spices. Caesarstone will never require sealing.

Everyday cleaning:
Caesarstone requires very little maintenance to keep the surface looking like new.
For everyday, routine cleaning of Caesarstone we recommend wiping the surface
with warm soapy water (a mild detergent) and a damp cloth or alternatively use a quality spray and wipe type cleaner.

Extra Stubborn dried spills and stains:
For removal of these or if you wish to give your Caesarstone bench top
or surface a thorough clean then we recommend using Caesarstone brand Cream Cleanser and a 3M Never Scratch All-Purpose Scrubber which can be used without damaging the stone, or alternatively applied to a soft damp cloth. To remove adhered materials like food, gum and nail polish, first scrape away the excess with a sharp blade. If there are any grey metal marks on the surface, a mild detergent will remove it. Household bleach can generally be used as an effective cleaner to remove stubborn marks, but care should be taken as some products are considerably stronger than others.

Biro marks!

I use the 3M never scratch thingy and its great. Wish they mention what to do with biro marks. DH tried using an eraser, it sort of worked but left a smudgy patch instead.
