Wassenaar Organization Semi-automatic Rifles (commonly referred to equally WASR-series rifles) are a line of rifles sold in the Usa by Century International Arms. In one case imported into the US, Century adapts the rifles to conform to national firearms regulations including Title 18, Chapter 44, of the U.s. Lawmaking.^[3] The regulations prohibit fully-automatic burn and limit the number of major components that may originate from outside the U.S.^[2] Century Artillery installs triggers, pistol grips, and stocks manufactured by TAPCO of Georgia.^{[ citation needed ]}

Trigger slap [edit]

Older WASR-serial rifles ordinarily produced trigger slap, which is acquired by the bolt slamming astern into the trigger assembly and causing significant pain to the shooter'southward trigger finger.^[4] Beginning in 2007, Century International Arms has installed the TAPCO Intrafuse AK G2 trigger grouping, eliminating the painful trigger slap problem.^[5] Rifles with this trigger grouping will have "TAPCO U.s.a. GP WASR-x [edit]

The GP (General Purpose) WASR-10 is a vii.62×39mm quotient semi-automated rifle that has been offered since the cease of the Federal assault weapons ban. Notable incidents [edit]

The WASR-10 was used to kill 23 people in the 2022 El Paso shooting.^{[14] [xv]} It was also used by Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez in the 2022 White House shooting^[16] and by the perpetrator of the 2022 Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting.^[17] The WASR-x was used to kill 8 people in 2007 in the Westroads Mall shooting in Omaha, Nebraska.^{[18] [19]}

Equally of 2022^[update], the WASR-10 is ofttimes used past diverse Mexican cartels in the country's drug war.^[20] Between 2006 and 2022, the weapon was "the most common gun purchased in the The states ... to be traced to crimes in Mexico."^[21]
